Free Online Hardware Tests — Mic, Webcam, Speaker & More
Browser-based hardware testing tools — no download, no account, no data collected. Works in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari.
Why Use MicCheck Online?
Real-Time Level Meter
Most built-in OS tests only show a pass/fail bar. Our mic test displays a live percentage readout, clipping alert, and decibel estimate — so you can tune your gain before the call, not during it.
Audio Never Leaves Your Device
The tool uses the Web Audio API, which processes sound locally in your browser tab. No audio is streamed, uploaded, or stored anywhere — technically impossible because we have no server-side capture.
Detects All Connected Devices
The device selector lists every mic, camera, and speaker the browser can see by name — including USB headsets, virtual audio devices, and Bluetooth inputs — so you can test the exact device your app will use.
No Install, No Extension
Works on Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari using standard browser APIs. No plugin, no app download, no account. All 18+ tools load in under two seconds on a typical connection.
Tested for Your Favorite Platforms
Before you jump into a Zoom call, Google Meet, or go live on stream, use MicCheck Online to confirm your setup is ready.
Zoom
Zoom has its own audio pipeline — it can silently use a different input device than your OS default. Test here first, then confirm the same device name is selected under Zoom Settings → Audio.
Test for Zoom →Google Meet
Meet inherits Chrome's microphone permission state. If this test shows 'blocked', Meet will also fail — fix the Chrome permission here before troubleshooting Meet itself.
Test for Google Meet →Microsoft Teams
Teams runs in its own Electron process and can hold exclusive access to audio devices on Windows, preventing other apps from using the mic simultaneously. Test here to confirm the device is free.
Test for Microsoft Teams →OBS Studio
OBS captures audio via WASAPI (Windows) or CoreAudio (Mac) — a different path from browser WebRTC. Check your mic levels here, then match the exact device name in OBS Settings → Audio.
